My parents were both talented artists who shared their love for art, music, and dance with their three children.

Mom (Arlyn) moved to New York at 17 to study piano at Julliard but her passion was for dance. She became part of a successful flamenco dancing duo, Trini and Manolo. They performed for many years in shows and venues around the world. Mom moved back to Houston, got married, and started a family, but never game up dancing. She opened a studio and taught ballet, tap, and jazz to hundreds of Houston-area kids and adults well into her 70s.

My dad was a professional photographer. He studied the craft, served as a photographer in the Army during WWII, and worked at NASA. He started his own commercial photography business. I loved visiting him at the studio. His images won nationwide recognition and Murray Getz Photography was a Houston fixture for decades.
